The Colorado School of Public Health and the University of Colorado Cancer Center invite applications from distinguished investigators for a senior-level faculty and leadership position in the Cancer Center to lead cancer prevention and control activities. This appointment is accompanied by an Endowed Chair and significant financial resources. The Program Leader is expected to provide scientific leadership in the development of cancer prevention and control efforts within the program and across the Cancer Center and play a lead role in developing a nationally recognized innovative research portfolio.
The University of Colorado Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Consortium Comprehensive Cancer Center with approximately 300 members engaged in collaborative cancer research at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Colorado State University, University of Colorado at Boulder, the Veterans Administration, and associated medical centers. Members of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program conduct research in epidemiology, chemoprevention, genetics, survivorship, health services, and behavioral science.
Required Qualifications: A doctoral degree in public health or a closely related field or a medical degree; strong track record of peer-reviewed funding and published research in the peer-reviewed literature; experience in conducting cancer prevention and control research; cancer-focused research publications; academic and scholarly accomplishments commensurate with the criteria for appointment to the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor at the University of Colorado, Colorado School of Public Health. Depending on the qualifications of candidates, faculty appointments will be considered by the following units: Department of Epidemiology, Department of Community and Behavioral Health, Department of Health Systems, Management, and Policy, Department of Biostatistics and Informatics.
