Register Today for Annual Hill Day, April 24

Registration is now open for AACI’s annual Hill Day, set for Tuesday, April 24, in Washington, DC. AACI will partner with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) to bring advocates to Capitol Hill to request stable, predictable investments for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

The annual Hill Day brings cancer center directors, administrators, researchers, physician-scientists, cancer survivors and other patient advocates to Capitol Hill to build support for biomedical research in general, and cancer research in particular.

The NIH and NCI enjoy strong support on Capitol Hill, but the need for advocates to highlight the achievements of cancer centers and request a robust investment for biomedical research has never been greater. With the federal government currently operating under a continuing resolution, and uncertainty surrounding the Fiscal Year 2018 budget, Hill Day presents a unique opportunity for advocates to visit their legislators and request a stable budget for the NIH and NCI in Fiscal Year 2019 and beyond.

Cancer center representatives are encouraged to join AACI and AACR as we call on Congress to prioritize funding for the NIH and the NCI for the overall health and economic well-being of our nation. AACI asks that each cancer center send a representative to Washington, including survivors and patient advocates.
