2026 AACI CADEx Conference Champion Supporter Posit PBC will host "AI, R & Shiny for Catchment Area Cancer Surveillance" on Tuesday, March 10, during the CADEx conference.
This two-hour workshop will teach attendees a 100 percent open-source workflow for building interactive, geospatial apps for cancer surveillance with R. Posit will focus on the basic skills attendees need to get started building apps with Shiny in Positron/RStudio. Posit will also review emerging opportunities to combine Shiny with AI to provide cancer researchers a chat-based data exploration experience. Participants will build an app through a sequence of hands-on exercises, and leave with model code and scripts to spur future work. No prior experience in R or Shiny is required.
Facilitators are Posit PBC Life Sciences and Healthcare Industry Director Phil Bowsher and Director of Learning Garrett Grolemund. The workshop is open to all attendees of the 2026 AACI CADEx Conference, which will be held March 9-11 at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead.
