Leadership Development Workshop

The AACI Leadership Development Workshop (LDW) convenes emerging leaders to enhance the oncology leadership pipeline with top talent. The LDW was launched in 2022 as part of the AACI presidential initiative of Caryn Lerman, PhD.

AACI invites cancer center directors to select one emerging leader from their cancer center to participate in the next LDW, slated for October 24-25 in conjunction with the 2026 AACI/CCAF Annual Meeting. Nominations are due by Wednesday, September 30.

Candidate Eligibility
  • Currently holds the role of cancer center deputy director; assistant or associate director; program leader; assistant, associate or full professor or cancer center director (within two years of appointment)
  • Demonstrates a track record of leadership and evidence of a desire for career evolution within the cancer center leadership structure
  • Expresses commitment to attending the entire workshop

Leadership Advancement Program

We are excited to introduce a year-long, hybrid educational program open exclusively to participants in the 2026 AACI Leadership Development Workshop (LDW) and past workshops.

The AACI Leadership Advancement Program (LAP) expands on the LDW curriculum and allows participants to deepen their understanding of the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Center Support Grant. Cancer center directors are invited to nominate participants to build on the knowledge and skills introduced during LDW.
