UNC Health Cancer Care is seeking an experienced nurse leader to join their team as a Clinical Research Manager. This position will play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant conduct of oncology clinical trials while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment for research staff, investigators, and clinical partners.
This role will lead and support a multidisciplinary clinical research team, providing daily supervision, coaching, and guidance while balancing staffing needs, study demands, and available resources. It will help ensure research activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, institutional policies, and study requirements, with a focus on patient safety, data integrity, and research quality.
The Clinical Research Manager partners closely with clinical and research leadership, investigators, and clinic teams to address operational challenges, improve workflows, support study performance, and identify opportunities to strengthen research operations. This position also contributes to strategic planning and the continued growth of oncology clinical trials across the region.
The ideal candidate is an experienced oncology nurse and people leader who enjoys developing staff, solving operational challenges, building strong working relationships, and helping teams deliver high-quality clinical research. This is a full-time position with occasional travel between clinic locations throughout the Triangle.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- RN NC LIC
- Preferred: CCRP
Professional Experience Requirements:
- Five years of clinical research experience. Three years of management experience. Clinical research certification preferred. Prefer hospital based research experience.
