Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Health System invite applications and nominations for the position of Director of Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center (MECCC) and Vice President of Cancer Medicine. We seek an accomplished executive leader in cancer research, with a national and international reputation of scientific discovery and translation to new paradigms in cancer care and community impact. The Director will bring vision, capacity, innovation, integrity, and partnership to lead the NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
MECCC’s overarching mission is to address the unique cancer-related needs and reduce cancer burden in the Bronx community, which MECCC serves. MECCC, the fourth Cancer Center in the U.S. to receive NCI-designation in 1972, fulfills this important mission through exceptional research, education and training, and community outreach and engagement, and through the delivery of compassionate, leading-edge care for all. MECCC is comprised of 228 faculty members and has a total cancer funding of $56M, with 91 team science grants. Einstein offers an extremely interactive environment with numerous, well-equipped core facilities and a clinical and translational research institute. MECCC works closely with the Department of Oncology, which comprises a large and complex clinical operation, spanning 60 hospital beds with 3,300 discharges per year at the three main campuses, and operates 90 outpatient infusion chairs in five locations.
Einstein is one of the nation’s premier research-intensive medical schools, home to more than 2,000 full-time faculty members, nearly 1,000 students in our MD, PhD, and MD/PhD programs, and 6 NIH-funded research centers. Montefiore Health System provides care to approximately three million people in communities across the Bronx, Westchester, and Hudson Valley. It comprises 10 hospitals and over two hundred outpatient ambulatory care sites.
Compensation Range: The base salary range for this position is $600,000 - $700,000
