Position Summary:
The Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) is seeking a strategic, systems-oriented Associate Director of Clinical Research Operations to lead our clinical trials enterprise. As our department enters a new phase of strategic growth, this leader will drive the expansion, standardization, and operational oversight of our Investigator-Initiated Trials (IIT) portfolio, including landmark multi-disciplinary grants (e.g., our ROBIN U54 center) and pioneering global protocols in SBRT and cardiac radioablation.

Key Responsibilities:
• IIT Expansion & Leadership: Lead strategic growth and operational execution of complex early-phase and multi-center investigator-initiated oncology studies.
• Operational Leadership: Direct daily operations of the Clinical Trials Office, supervising the Clinical Research Manager, aligning research staffing strategies, and establishing career pathways to enhance staff retention.
• Systems & Process Optimization: Drive implementation and optimization of enterprise research systems to streamline data integrity.
• Financial & Project Tracking: Oversee program budgets and implement advanced tracking tools for real-time leadership visibility into accrual, timelines, and finances.
• Regulatory Oversight: Maintain strict compliance with FDA, ICH/GCP, and OHRP regulations while fostering strong collaborative relationships across WUSM and BJC HealthCare.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, healthcare administration, public health, nursing, or related field required; Master’s (MHA, MPH, MBA, MSN) preferred.
• 10–15+ years of progressive clinical research leadership in an academic medical center or complex oncology setting; minimum 5 years supervising mid-level managers.
• Extensive expertise scaling Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs), implementing enterprise research platforms, and navigating FDA/GCP regulations.
