AACI's Physician Clinical Leadership Initiative (PCLI) will host a webinar titled "Improving Clinical Trial Accruals Through Data, Collaboration, and Targeted Interventions" at 1:00 pm eastern time on Tuesday, March 24.

Drawing on the work of a multidisciplinary task force at Emory University, this webinar will explore a data-driven approach to understanding and addressing barriers to clinical trial enrollment. Speakers will share findings from their "Just Ask" initiative, including insights from a center-wide white paper and a comprehensive effort to collect and analyze clinical trial accrual data across the institution. Speakers will also discuss the logistics and the lessons learned from patients that received consents and decided not to enroll on a clinical trial.

The session will highlight key barriers identified through this work, the collaborative role of clinical trials offices and community outreach and engagement teams, and the targeted interventions being implemented to improve enrollment and equity. This webinar is Part 1 of a two-part series, setting the foundation for a follow-up session in 2027 to assess the impact of these interventions, share lessons learned, and discuss ongoing challenges and successes.

The webinar will be moderated by Ajay K. Nooka, MD, MPH, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Presenters are Theresa Wicklin Gillespie, PhD, MA, FAAN, Winship Cancer Institute, and Amy M. Overby, BSs, Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.
