Rachna Shroff, MD, MS, FASCO, of the University of Arizona Cancer Center, has recently taken a step back from her work to focus on her health and the establishment of the Endowed Conquer Cancer – Rachna Shroff, MD, MS, FASCO Young Investigator Award in Biliary Cancer. The award aims to ensure financial stability for early-career scientists focused on biliary, or bile duct, cancer research.
Dr. Shroff has been a valued member of the AACI community for many years, participating in the Clinical Research Innovation (CRI) and Physician Clinical Leadership Initiative (PCLI) steering committees and AACI events, serving as a co-moderator of the AACI Associate Directors of Clinical Research Forum, and generously sharing her expertise.
Early in her career, Dr. Shroff received a Young Investigator Award from Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, an experience she credits with helping launch many of her accomplishments in cancer research. Thanks to the support of more than 600 generous donors, Dr. Shroff's campaign exceeded its goal of $1.35 million, the amount needed to permanently endow the award. Additional gifts will continue to fund the endowment in honor of Dr. Shroff, creating a lasting legacy for the next generation of biliary cancer researchers.
