The 2021 AACI/CCAF Annual Meeting will virtually convene AACI cancer center members with national cancer research and advocacy groups, industry, and government health agencies on October 19-21. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the National Cancer Act (NCA), one meeting session will examine the last 50 years of progress and potential for the future.

Topics for discussion will include the history of the NCA; how the NCA has driven five decades of discovery and improved our understanding of cancer; the evolution of the cancer center network and its impact on clinical research; and how the NCA has provided structure for cancer control and prevention activities.

Additional meeting topics include telehealth and cancer care at home; the impact of COVID-19 on cancer centers; an overview of basic science cancer centers; data science and artificial intelligence; changes to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Center Support Grant; and reducing disparities in cancer research and care. The meeting will also include updates from NCI Director, Dr. Ned Sharpless, as well as a presentation from Dr. Henry Ciolino on NCI's cancer centers program. Additionally, the event will include the presentation of AACI's Distinguished Scientist and Champion for Cures awards and the inaugural presentation of the new Cancer Health Equity Award.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) is jointly provided by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and AACI.
