The AACI Clinical Research Innovation (CRI) Steering Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret "Margie" Kasner, MD, MSCE, as its new chair, effective October 1. Dr. Kasner serves as professor of medical oncology; director of the leukemia section, Division of Hematologic Malignancies and HSCT; and associate director for clinical research at Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Jefferson. We extend our sincere gratitude to our immediate past chair, Thomas J. George, Jr., MD, FACP, FASCO, deputy director of the University of Florida Health Cancer Center, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to advancing AACI’s mission.

We are also excited to welcome four newly elected steering committee members, selected from a strong pool of 30 nominees:

• Stefanie Belanger, MHA, CCRP, associate director of the clinical trials office and business operations, Duke Cancer Institute

• Whitney Cunningham, MA, SHRM-CP, director of research administration and operations, UK Markey Cancer Center

• Anthony El-Khoueiry, MD, associate professor of medicine and associate director for clinical research, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center

• Amy M. Overby, senior director of the clinical trials office, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University

Their terms will also begin on October 1. We look forward to their contributions to CRI’s mission of improving clinical trial operations at cancer centers. Finally, we extend our sincere gratitude to the following outgoing steering committee members for their dedicated service, expertise, and leadership, whose efforts have played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of CRI and supporting cancer centers in advancing clinical research.
