Formerly a standalone meeting, the AACI Leadership Development Workshop (LDW) has been added to the slate of professional development opportunities offerred in conjunction with the 2026 AACI/CCAF Annual Meeting in Chicago.
An offshoot of Dr. Caryn Lerman’s AACI presidential initiative, the LDW aims to enhance the oncology leadership pipeline with top talent. AACI invites cancer center directors to select one emerging leader from their cancer center to attend the 2026 workshop, October 24-25, at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile.
Attendees will learn how to identify and embrace their unique leadership styles, listen to learn, and influence key stakeholders. They will also leave with practical advice on strategic planning, budgeting, communicating clearly and concisely, and setting goals for professional growth. A joint session will bring participants together with attendees of the Impact Summit, hosted by AACI in partnership with the Cancer Center Network, and the AACI New Cancer Center Directors Meeting to share perspectives on leadership development and workforce engagement.
To be eligible, candidates must:
Currently hold the role of cancer center deputy director; assistant or associate director; program leader; assistant, associate or full professor or cancer center director (within two years of appointment)
Demonstrate a track record of leadership and evidence of a desire for career evolution within the cancer center leadership structure
Express commitment to attending both days of the LDW
Please contact Senior Events Manager Dawn Gobble for more information on the self-nomination process or to send additional participants from your cancer center. For support opportunities, please contact Development Manager Chelsea Borries.
