The Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Cancer Center in the State of South Carolina, serving 5.2M residents. As the only NCI-designated cancer center in South Carolina, HCC is part of an elite network of 72 cancer centers across the country recognized for our dedication to delivering cutting-edge treatments to patients and conducting innovative research to serve the unique needs of our state. HCC is also one of just 14 National Cancer Institute Minority/Underserved Community Oncology Research Programs across the country with the goal of bringing clinical trials to patients in their communities and reducing disparities in access to care based on regional or socioeconomic status.

Mission
The mission of HCC is to reduce the cancer burden in the state through the provision of cancer screening, care, training/education, community outreach, and conducting transformative research that spans the bench, bedside, and population.

Summary
The Operations Manager of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) Translational Science Laboratory (TSL) Shared Resources/Core is responsible for managing the daily operations of the TSL, working closely with clinical and translational scientists on the design and development of correlative studies associated with oncology clinical trials, and with basic researchers on the design and execution of clinical correlative studies. The Operations Manager will provide technical expertise to ensure that the TSL meets the needs of HCC members and supports the research mission of MUSC. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the TSL operates in compliance with institutional policies, federal regulations, and NCI guidelines.

The Operations Manager of HCC’s TSL is a key scientific position within the Center, and as such, requires a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong commitment to excellence in cancer research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the strategic direction of the TSL and play a critical role in supporting the research mission of HCC.
