JOB DESCRIPTION:

Designs and implements information technology solutions to support and advance the research and data needs of researchers within a specific department.
Actively collaborates with investigators to identify and document needs and translate them into sustainable and reliable technology solutions.
Designs data management solutions that may include the creation of databases, the extension and modification of data structures, development and generation of extracts, queries and reports, and the implementation of quality controls to ensure the integrity and reliability of data.
Builds systems and processes to facilitate data quality control and management.
Designs and executes data reporting functionality to provide stakeholders with relevant data on key measures associated with regulatory and compliance standards.
Designs and customizes research-based information technology solutions leveraging existing solutions whenever possible.
Investigates and evaluates emerging technology and practices to optimize research and data management practices within the department and across the university.
Manages informatics projects from conception to completion. Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Data Analysis: Under the guidance of radiologists, senior analyst, referring clinicians, corporate sponsors, Principal Investigators and Project Manager, the incumbent performs 2D or 3D image analysis according to trial protocol with appropriate documentation and archival of the final product. Incumbent will work primarily on image analysis for the Yunu software, involving quantitative, longitudinal tracking of tumor size.
Data Management: Locates and transfers image data from local PACS archives to computer workstations for analysis. Accesses hospital and radiology information systems to validate patient studies. Organizes and uploads measurement results and new image data sets to the appropriate database or PACS. Maintains effective working relations and communication with departmental staff and research teams.
Documentation: Maintains documentation of research projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree and five years of experience supporting technology in a clinical, research or health industry or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Demonstrated expertise in translating business requirements into technical solutions, extracting and manipulating data and implementing quality controls.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Windows experience.
Anatomical knowledge.
Experience with cross-sectional imaging.
Knowledge of computer networks, radiology information systems and PACS from a user standpoint
Ability to learn multiple image analysis applications.
Good communication, documentation, and organizational skills 
Familiarity with assessment criteria for oncology clinical trials 
Certificate/degree in Radiology Imaging Technology and related experience.
Experience with CT technology.
1-2 years of experience in clinical trials research or radiology.
Experience with CT and MR
