Job Description:

This role serves as a centralized project manager for strategic projects and initiatives stemming from the aims and objectives of the Cancer Center Support Grant and Center-wide strategic plan. Experience with high-level project management and direct responsibility for complex, multi-phase projects is necessary for success in this role.

Job Duties:

High-level coordination of strategic initiatives and projects set by the Associate Director for Administration on behalf of the Executive Committee, including the establishment of budgets, timelines, metrics, and other project specifics in close collaboration with leadership.
Managing the lifecycle of assigned projects and maintaining open lines of communication with the Associate Director, project teams, and stakeholders throughout the project timeline.
Providing comprehensive project reports and summary presentations to executive and senior leadership for assigned projects, addressing outcomes and progress towards objectives and summary data at the conclusion of each project.
Developing and managing project budgets in collaboration with the UFHCC’s Finance division, overseeing resource allocation, ensuring accurate expense reporting, and providing regular reports to the Associate Director

This is a critical, senior-level position, ideal for candidates with established careers in complex, multi-phase project management. Ideal candidates will have project management experience in an NCI designated cancer center or similarly complex research center.

Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to work with detailed and complex data and analyze metrics, providing logical conclusions/projections and reports for leadership.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate program issues, assess solutions, and decisively respond in an appropriate and timely manner.
Excellent delegation and time-management skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple, cross-functional priorities seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical, creative problem solving, and critical thinking skillset.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, particularly proof-reading and public speaking skills.
Demonstrated success and experience in project management, as well as the ability to lead focus groups and committees through project completion.
Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite.

Knowledge/Experience:

A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
5 to 8 years’ experience as a project manager, preferably in an NCI designated cancer center or similarly complex research institution.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in project management including industry standard methodologies and tools.
Experience developing and managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and analyzing financial data.
Understanding of process improvement techniques and modalities (e.g. Six Sigma) with experience leading the process improvement process.

Compensation:

$80,000 - $90,000 (commensurate with education & experience)
