Multiple Faculty Positions - Cancer Population and Community Health Scientists

LSU Health New Orleans is actively recruiting cancer researchers to become part of an emerging NCI-Designated Cancer Center for the state of Louisiana, which has some of the highest incidence, mortality, disparities, and social vulnerabilities in the country. The LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center, which has been identified as the top priority of the President of LSU, is based in New Orleans, Louisiana and capitalizes on the vast resources of LSU, community engagement across the state, partnerships with LCMC Health hospitals, and LCRC research institutions.  

As a part of this effort, LSU New Orleans’ School of Public Health is now recruiting for individuals who want to be a part of this exciting opportunity. We are building a team of population scientists and community health scientists, who, in partnership with clinical and basic scientists, highly engaged communities, and state leaders, are committed to making a difference in cancer outcomes.

Three open-rank epidemiology and population sciences faculty, one specializing in environmental mixtures and cancer, one experienced in epigenetic (or multi-omics) studies, and one population sciences researcher proficient in mining LTR and other extensive databases and biospecimens for the benefit of cancer center researchers.

Successful candidates will be able to conduct population sciences research at the highest level by taking advantage of LSU’s unique resources, which include:

A SEER cancer registry located in the School of Public Health

Adult and pediatric academic hospitals that care for patients regardless of ability to pay
LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center commitment to create population sciences core facilities and resources to meet investigator needs
