Environmental Health Open Rank Faculty (Cancer focused) Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor – Tenure

We seek candidates with expertise or prior experience in at least two of the following: (1) community-engaged research investigating the toxicological effects of environmental or occupational hazards with an emphasis on cancer outcomes; (2) environmental and biological monitoring to assess multi-pathway exposures to industrial, agricultural and/or transportation related hazards; (3) modeling of pollutant air dispersion/deposition, multi-media fate-transport, and/or biokinetics; and/or (4) identification and evaluation of interventions and policies to address health disparities, environmental injustice and climate change-associated issues.

Applicants must have a doctorate degree. Preferred candidates will have a doctorate degree in environmental health, environmental science, public health, environmental epidemiology, or a related field. Applicants with a doctorate degree in a different field who either have a master’s degree or demonstrated experience in one of the related fields will also be considered for this position. Evidence of extramural research funding and publications must be commensurate with years of professional experience. We expect our faculty to build an externally funded research program, publish in leading journals, and be committed to advancing health equity and to impacting public and population health. As minimum qualifications for consideration, applicants will have evidence of or strong potential for establishing an independent, extramurally funded research program, a demonstrated interest in teaching, and a commitment to public health. Candidates will be responsible for advising and mentoring students and junior faculty scholars.

The School of Public Health (SPH) is located on the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) campus. LSUHSC-NO is a part of the Louisiana State University (LSU) System. The Environmental Health and Climate Program has a national reputation for cancer research, community-engaged research and practice and for promoting health equity, offering a BS degree, MPH degree, and several dual degree tracks.
