Cancer AI Alliance (CAIA) Operations Director

Fred Hutch Cancer Center

May 5, 2025
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Director of Operations will drive execution across legal, financial, research compliance, philanthropy, and business development areas for the Cancer AI Alliance (CAIA). This role requires someone who knows how to get things done—navigating complex systems with speed, precision, innovation, and diplomacy.

Success in this role depends on the ability to quickly understand Fred Hutch systems and processes, and to work productively across administrative silos in a highly matrixed environment. The individual must be able to gain the trust of senior leaders and help enable rapid, non-standard decisions in support of a fast-moving and innovative initiative.

This role plays a key part in translating one of the most ambitious interdisciplinary initiatives in cancer research and AI into operational reality.
