The Department of Epidemiology at the University of South Florida (USF) College of Public Health (COPH) invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions in Cancer Epidemiology: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. All three positions will have their academic home in Epidemiology, and together they will play central roles in advancing cancer research in partnership with the Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Cancer Institute. These positions offer a distinctive opportunity to shape cancer control and outcomes research at the institutional and regional level through close collaboration with the TGH Cancer Institute and USF Health. Successful candidates will have varying levels of accomplishment in the area of cancer etiology, prevention, early detection, treatment outcomes, survivorship, health equity or cancer related public health genomics using molecular, clinical, behavioral, environmental or policy-relevant approaches.

The Professor will also serve as Director of the Cancer Control, Prevention, and Epidemiology Program at the TGH Cancer Institute – a major academic–clinical collaboration focused on prevention, early detection, survivorship, and population health strategies. We seek a nationally recognized scholar with a record of sustained extramural funding, impactful peer-reviewed publications, successful instruction of graduate-level students or trainees where applicable in the areas described above and demonstrated leadership in collaborative cancer research. The Professor and Director will lead cross-institutional initiatives that integrate cancer surveillance, implementation science, health equity, and cancer related public health genomics, while mentoring junior faculty and trainees.

The Associate Professor will contribute as a senior faculty member in cancer epidemiology, working closely with the Director and Assistant Professor to help grow the program’s research portfolio and strengthen its translational and population-based impact. Competitive candidates will have a sustained record of extramural funding, publications, and successful teaching of graduate students or equivalent trainees where applicable, in the areas described above.
