The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Administrative Director, Clinical Research Services to serve as the senior administrative leader for SCCC’s Clinical Research Services (CRS) enterprise.
Position Summary
The SCCC Administrator provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for CRS while ensuring compliance with federal, state, institutional, and regulatory requirements. The role supports the Cancer Center’s mission, research priorities, and strategic initiatives. This position reports to the AVP of Research Administration, with dotted-line reporting to the Associate Director of Clinical Research, and collaborates with the Associate Director of Population Sciences to enhance integration and efficiency across clinical research operations.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Provide executive administrative leadership across all CRS locations.
Advise leadership on strategy, policy, operational performance, and clinical research priorities.
Evaluate services, identify gaps, and support expansion of investigator-initiated studies and Population Sciences infrastructure.
Operations & Oversight
Oversee CRS administrative, clinical trials, and operational units, including executive leadership for CTCU, Operations, and satellite sites.
Ensure efficient study start-up, feasibility review, protocol development, activation timelines, and regulatory compliance.
Provide oversight of clinical research laboratories, quality programs, training initiatives, research nursing (dotted-line), and key committees (PRMC, DSMC).
Financial & Resource Management
Develop and manage budgets in collaboration with Finance and Research Administration.
Oversee clinical trial financial performance, fee structures, and funding models.
Promote operational efficiency, revenue growth, and cost containment.
People & Organizational Leadership
Recruit, mentor, and develop leaders and staff.
Lead CRS leadership meetings to promote communication, collaboration, and performance improvement.
Collaboration & Representation
Serve as liaison between SCCC, University departments, and external partners.
Collaborate with Oncology Service Line teams to improve research patient experience.
Represent CRS internally and externally at institutional and professional forums.
Compliance, Grants & Reporting
Ensure regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk management.
Lead collaboration with IRB, Research Administration, compliance, monitoring, and auditing offices.
Support Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) components including CPDM and PRMS, and provide performance reporting to leadership.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience
Preferred:
Senior leadership experience at an NCI-designated Cancer Center
Expertise in clinical research strategy and operations
Strong financial, compliance, and team leadership skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
