Senior Scientist, Cancer Lipids and Metabolism Research Program

The Stony Brook Cancer Center is seeking applicants for a senior scientist in cancer metabolism to lead the Cancer Lipids and Metabolism (CLM) Research Program. The CLM Program is a multidisciplinary basic and translational science program focused on the role of cancer metabolism in tumor biology and as a target for new cancer therapies. The Program Leader for CLM sets the overall strategic and operational direction for the program and is responsible for building research excellence within the program. This includes fostering program growth and enhancing the external peer-reviewed funding in the program.

Applicants must themselves must be an accomplished scientist in cancer metabolism and have a demonstrated track record in extramurally funded research as well as a record of successful mentorship and have demonstrated leadership/leadership potential. The successful candidate should hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent.

Tenure Track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
