Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park) is seeking a dynamic, accomplished, and forward-looking executive to serve as its Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Vice President.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Vice President works closely with other organization leaders and advisors to provide the appropriate leadership and support needed to plan, develop, and implement cost-effective information technology solutions to securely and efficiently support the mission of Roswell Park, including all clinical, business, and research operations.

The role has primary responsibility for the secure, robust and highly reliable provision of organization’s information technology services and technology, including cloud and datacenter based services, networking, desktop support, application development and implementation, biomedical device support, telecommunications, and digital transformation activities.

The incumbent works with the IT management team to translate strategic plans into actionable short and long term goals within the IT departmental budget, including detailed cost projections which may require the review and approval of others including, but not limited to, the senior leadership team and the IT Steering Committee comprised of members of the Roswell Park Board of Directors. The incumbent provides long term planning including full lifecycle management of information technology resources and systems.

Qualifications:

Ideal Candidates for the role will possess the following:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of ten (10) years of full-time experience in information systems, including five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, consultative, or executive capacity.

Demonstrated record of success leading major information technology functions with a preference for IT expertise in healthcare, research, and academic environments.

Broad knowledge and thorough understanding of the trends and forces shaping the information technology arena and the effects of such on healthcare, research and academic environments.

Prior experience in a cancer center or academic medical center is desired, but not required.
