Position Highlights The University of Arizona Cancer Center is seeking a Research Technician with a passion for conducting bench-top experiments on translational cancer research projects. The successful candidate shall be able to independently handle human PBMCs, human cell lines, and fresh human cells/samples, and mice tissues. The technician shall be able to plan and execute experiments, analyze data, and trouble-shoot technical problems, and write experiment reports. Duties & Responsibilities
Plan, design, and conduct daily experiments with human PBMCs, human cell lines, fresh human cells/samples, and fresh mice cells/tissues.
Duties include processing samples, propagating cellular cultures in vitro, and extraction of biologic material for downstream analysis.
Evaluation of biologic readouts. Flow cytometry, RNA transcriptional profiling, ELISA, Western blotting, and collection and analysis of data.
Assist in IRB submissions and grant applications. Participate in manuscript preparation
Participate in lab management, including ordering, bookkeeping, and maintenance of equipment.
Additional lab duties as assigned, such as training students.
1 year of relevant work experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
*2 years or more laboratory experience. *Knowledge in molecular cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, or medical technology. *Experience in mice work. *Independently handle human PBMCs, human cell lines, and fresh human cells/samples, and mice tissues. *Ability to plan and execute experiments, analyze data, and trouble-shoot technical problems, and write experiment reports. *Experience with CRISPR-Cas9, molecular cloning, and other molecular biology techniques. *Experience with big data analysis and use of bioinformatic tools. *Expertise in cell culture.
