Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Population Health Sciences and the Executive Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Office of Population Health (OPH), the Research Data Analyst will be responsible for (a) Performing activities of data analytics to include requirements and design, data cleaning, data management, developing analysis and reporting capabilities, and linking databases and data sets, (b) Assist in the preparation of reports, publications and presentations for diverse audiences (researchers, leadership, community) that effectively communicate cancer trends, patterns, and predictions, © Creating data tables and datasets for faculty members, research programs, and offices in the Cancer Center, and (e) Streamlining data systems and databases request and management processes
Required Qualifications
Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.
Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, statistics, economics, health services research, public health, or related quantitative field or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in use of data analytics and visualization software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, SAS, R, Tableau) as well as Microsoft Office, Excel (pivot tables)
Extensive experience working with multiple data sources including large databases and experience converting data formats.
Extensive experience with statistical analysis of clinical and health outcomes
Experience with statewide and national population health data
Proficiency and excellent computer skills with PowerPoint, Excel, Access and FileMaker Pro
Skill in exercising the appropriate measures of tact, courtesy, and diplomacy when dealing with individuals at any location or organizational level within the institution, and in all contacts with the public and outside agencies.
Strong skills with technical writing used in drafting the methods and results portions of publications on the research
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in epidemiology, statistics, economics, health services research, public health, or related quantitative field or equivalent experience.
Manuscript experience with research publications
