The University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking established/ independent investigators and physician-scientists at the level of Associate/Full Professors for multiple positions to develop programs in support of Cancer Biology, Cancer Control, and Cancer Medicine Divisions.

These positions are part of the ongoing recruitment effort in the UPRCCC in alignment with our strategic vision to achieve NCI-Cancer Center Designation. Appointees will be expected to develop independent and collaborative grant-funded research programs according to their field of expertise. Areas of interest that align with the strategic growth of the UPRCCC include basic, clinical and translational research, clinical trials and experimental therapeutics, population health, social determinants of health, dissemination and implementation science, health equity and policy research, community-based research, early detection and screening, health services research, computational biology, and cancer survivorship research.

The UPRCCC is a public corporation committed to executing the health policy for prevention, education, research, and clinical care for cancer in Puerto Rico. Our main goal is to serve as a catalyst and integrate educational, community, clinical, and research resources focused on cancer eradication in Puerto Rico, in collaboration with the Department of Health.  The UPRCCC is affiliated with the University of Puerto Rico through a memorandum of understanding to facilitate collaboration, recruitment efforts, and access to facilities and resources for investigators and faculty members maximizing leverage and synergies.

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D., MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent degree with training in biology/molecular biology/biochemistry, public health, psychology, or other related fields
Extensive cancer-relevant research experience
Nationally-recognized scholarly/research portfolio with a strong track record of continuous funding
Strong record of pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training in their field
Extensive peer-reviewed publication experience
Proven trainee and faculty mentorship skills
Track record working in multi-disciplinary fields
Experience in, and coordination of, collaborative grants and managing trans-disciplinary research
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at UPRCCC

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an academic environment
Proven success in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
