Executive Vice President

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

August 22, 2019
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is seeking an experienced, collaborative and strategic executive to serve as their next Executive Vice President.

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) brings together the leading research teams and cancer specialists of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and UW Medicine to translate scientific discovery into the prevention, treatment, and cure of cancer. SCCA provides care directly in the Seattle area; engaging in strategic partnerships throughout the Pacific Northwest region; and serving as a national and international center of excellence, drawing patients from all over the world and disseminating research that advances the standard of cancer care globally. SCCA/UW has been named as one of the top Best Hospitals in the Nation and number one in Washington State for Adult Cancer Treatment by U.S. News & World Report for the past 13 years. SCCA is a member of the Fred Hutchinson/University of Washington Consortium, which is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The Executive Vice President (EVP) is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and operational management of SCCA. Direct reporting lines include clinical operations, finance, strategy, IT, HR, and quality. The EVP will play a key role in leading a cultural and operational transformation of the organization as it embraces the challenges and opportunities of its planned $281 million building expansion, implementation of the Epic electronic health record, and regional expansion of its geographic footprint for adult cancer care with UW Medicine, network affiliates and regional partners.

The successful candidate will have:

·         10 years of executive leadership experience within a complex and matrixed healthcare organization

·         Governance experience and interactions with boards

·         Strong financial acumen with a track record of positive financial results and cost discipline

·         Advanced degree in business, health administration, or the equivalent

The executive search from Spencer Stuart is assisting SCCA with this critical recruitment. Nominations and/or applications may be submitted confidentially to Shannon Yeatman at
