Cancer Disparity or Health Equity Researchers or Research Teams

Cedars-Sinai Cancer is seeking individual or research team applicants at the Assistant Professor or higher levels for four (4) faculty positions in the Research Center for Health Equity.  Successful candidates will be expected to develop robust and transformative research programs in cancer disparities and health equity research teams that would integrate researchers from other Cedars-Sinai Cancer research programs/teams such as the Prevention and Control Research Group, the Center for Integrated Research in Cancer and Lifestyle and Health Services Research.  These transdisciplinary, multiinvestigator project teams will be aimed at eliminating cancer disparities across racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic dimensions and promote health equity in cancer prevention and control in the Cedars-Sinai Cancer catchment area.   

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
We seek applications from exceptional investigators conducting research on cancer disparities and health equity to detect cancer early, prevent cancer at the community-based level, identify and evaluate cancer risk in high-risk populations, and measure the quality and outcomes of cancer therapy.  Applicants could come in any of the following areas: health equity/disparities, tobacco prevention and cessation, cancer prevention and control, behavioral sciences, health services research, next generation primary care, life course epidemiology, occupational health, environmental health, and global health. 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
• PhD in public health, health policy, health services research, behavioral sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, genetics/genomics, public health, population-health related fields or an MD with an accompanying public health graduate degree from an accredited school and 5 years of relevant experience.
• Successful record as principal investigator of peer-reviewed cancer disparities and health equity related grants or demonstrate very strong potential for such funding
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and conducting community intervention trials, dissemination and implementation science, and/or cancer care delivery research in underserved and minority populations wherein cancer disparities exist
• Sustained track record of outstanding scholarly achievement with a scientific focus in either cancer epidemiology, cancer prevention and control, health services research, behavioral intervention, cancer disparities or health equity
• Successful track record of developing innovative community outreach and engagement and cancer prevention and control initiatives for minority or underserved populations
• Demonstrated commitment to reducing cancer burden or advancing health equity for low-income, underserved minority, and medically underserved communities
• Extensive publication record in high impact peer-reviewed journals or publication record that represents a significant impact on either cancer disparities and/or health equity
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and communities and experience with engaging diverse communities in cancer disparities research
• Experience working with community organizations and leaders, government relations, advocacy groups, and with development and philanthropic donors. 
• Track record of high-quality teaching and mentoring at the graduate level.
