Brief Behavioral Therapy for Cancer-Related Insomnia (BBT-CI) Interventionists

The University of Rochester Cancer Center National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program Research Base (URCC NCORP RB) is looking for health professionals to serve as independent contractors (Brief Behavioral Therapy for Cancer-Related Insomnia (BBT-CI) interventionists) for a Phase III clinical trial aimed at improving insomnia in adult cancer patients.

This position is to supplement the needs of our NCORP affiliate sites and will be on an as-needed basis.

Interventionists will deliver behavioral interventions 1-on-1 virtually with adult cancer patients. The intervention sessions are weekly for 6 weeks (two 1-hour video call sessions and four 15-minute phone calls).

The BBT-CI intervention addresses maladaptive coping behaviors, provides psychoeducation on circadian rhythm in cancer, and includes behavior activation.

Qualified BBT-CI interventionists must:

·       A health professional trained to deliver cognitive behavioral therapy-CBT (ex: clinical social worker, nurse, counselor, psychologist, etc). Licensure is not required.

Qualified candidates will be interviewed.

Study-specific intervention training will be provided.

If hired, candidates will need to provide personal liability insurance information.

Interventionists are compensated $500 per study participant for the completion of the 6-week intervention.
