Clinical Research Initiative Progress Report Available Online

The AACI Clinical Research Initiative (AACI CRI), established in 2009, has published its first progress report. The document provides updates about the initiative’s three Special Interest Groups-- NCI Clinical Trials Reporting Program, Metrics, and Budgeting and Contracts-- as well as information regarding the new AACI CRI Discussion Forum.

The forum and progress report can be accessed by clicking on “Clinical Research Initiative Discussion Forum” at the CRI front page, housed on the AACI website, at the following address: www.aaci-cancer.org/in_clinical_new.asp

To register for the forum, click on “login” in the upper right corner of the forum’s front page and complete the registration form by entering a self-selected user name and password, and your email address. You will receive an email notification confirming your registration, however, your account will need to be verified by AACI before you will be permitted full access to the discussion boards. You will receive a second e-mail once your account has been confirmed.

The “News and Notes” forum—also known as the “lobby”—contains the progress report and can be read by everyone browsing the site, even visitors who are not logged in to the forums. However, only logged-in users may post comments. Each AACI CRI Special Interest Group also has its own forum—CTRP, Metrics and Budgeting and Contracts. An additional forum—Other—provides an area for members-only discussion of topics beyond the scope of the SIGs. These four discussion forums will only be accessible to users whose accounts have been verified by AACI. At this time, the boards will only be open to AACI Members.

We are looking forward to discussing further progress at our 2nd Annual Meeting in Chicago on July 15-16, 2010. Registration for the meeting will be available in the coming weeks. If you have any questions regarding CRI or the discussion forums, please contact Monica at monica@aaci-cancer.org.
