Clinical Investigator

The University of Kansas Cancer Center, a nationally designated Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute is seeking to recruit a full time academic Clinical Investigator with demonstrated interest in investigational drug development and Phase I Clinical Trials. The University of Kansas Cancer Center is located in the Greater Kansas City metro area.

The successful candidate will join a translational team of physicians and scientists focused on early clinical development of personalized cancer therapeutics. The selected candidate will be integrated into the academic and teaching activities of the KU Clinical Research Center, the Division of Hematology/Oncology, and KUCC research programs. Excellent lab space and competitive start up packages are available.

Applications will be considered from physician-investigators at the Assistant/Associate Professor level (MD or MD/PhD-tenure-earning or tenured faculty positions). Board certified/eligible in medical oncology or hematology/oncology, and eligible for licensure in Kansas. Require candidates with a proven ability to develop experimental cancer therapies and conduct innovative, investigator-initiated early-phase clinical trials. This position does not require laboratory research.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated record of originality and productivity in research, existing or outstanding potential for consistent extramural funding and an interest in graduate and medical education.
