San Francisco, CA – UCSF Health seeks an exceptional physician leader with a track record of demonstrated success to serve as the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Cancer Services (CMO). This CMO role requires strong executive leadership, effective administrative skills and commitment to the delivery of high quality and cost effective patient care.

The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of the world’s foremost cancer centers that focuses on a multidisciplinary approach, integrating the work of researchers and clinicians who are dedicated to four fundamental pursuits: “laboratory research into the causes and events of cancer’s progression; clinical research to translate new knowledge into viable treatments, sensitive - state of the art patient care and population research that can lead to prevention, early detection and quality of life improvement for those living with cancer.”

This inaugural position is an integral component of a recently formed cancer services executive team, including the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. In collaboration with the leadership team the CMO, will develop the strategy for clinical operations and the structure for quality and patient outcomes across the UCSF Health Cancer enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a physician leader with a strong track record of leading transformative change, driving clinical integration and directing patient centered operations within an academic medical center or large integrated healthcare system. A specialty in a cancer related discipline is desired, or management experience with a scope including cancer clinical services is required.
