This position provides cancer leadership, vision, direction, and development of all clinical programs comprised at the UT Health Northeast MD Anderson Cancer Center. Proactively promotes excellence in patient care, customer service, consultative services, and practice efficiency.

Under the direction of the President of UT Health Northeast and appointed leadership, represents MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston) clinical leadership at the UT Health Northeast MD Anderson Cancer Center. Leadership responsibilities include directing, planning, and coordinating all clinical activities and programs of the UT Health Northeast MD Anderson Cancer Center and its physicians. Develops strategic plans and proactively promotes positive public relations. Assures clinical activities are efficient, effective, and appropriately support the research-driven, multidisciplinary, patient centered clinical mission of the cancer center. Serves as a member of the UT Health Northeast clinical leadership team at the system level, building and supporting effective collegial relationships with applicable internal and external constituents and stakeholders and ensuring optimal operating effectiveness and strategic positioning

Additional duties include recruitment, team-building and mentoring staff to promote professional excellence and growth. Fosters teamwork and creates organizational capacity for innovation, creativity and critical thinking by providing staff with authority, accountability, training, information and resources to achieve their full potential. Works collaboratively with UT Health Northeast senior management to evaluate and maximize the effectiveness of care delivery, patient safety, and related operational metrics.

Medical Director will performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Will also provide all customers of UT Health Northeast with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating UT Health Northeast core and leadership behaviors each and every day. They will serve as role models for staff and acting in a people-centered, service excellence-focused, and results oriented manner.
