Associate Director of Administration
University of Hawaii Cancer Center, University of Hawaii at Manoa
The University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center (UHCC) is a unique NCI designated cancer center in many ways. It is the only NCI designated cancer center within 2500 miles and serves the State of Hawai’i and neighboring Pacific populations, providing access to new therapies through clinical trials. The UHCC has a rich history of mining the many endemic organisms of its land and seas for biologically active new compounds and evaluating its ethnically diverse population to better understand the genetic, environmental and behavioral causes of cancer. In this way the UHCC seeks to be a world leader in eliminating cancer through research, education and improved patient care.
The Associate Director of Administration (ADA) is responsible for supporting & coordinating the administrative and operational needs of the research programs and shared resources at the UHCC under the direction of the Cancer Center Director. The ADA oversees and directs day-to-day operations, including strategy and planning, budget and finance, clinical partnerships, space allocations, facilities, human resources, administration, clinical research, research and grants administration, patient and community outreach, shared resources and educational programs. The office will work closely with the School of Medicine (SoM), UH departments, Hawaii Cancer Consortium (HCC), and the University Health Partners of Hawai’i (UHPH) to facilitate efforts to synergize the administrative and operational activities of the common campus for the efficient delivery of all support services.
