Research Opportunity- "Quantitative Imaging for Evaluation of Responses to Cancer Therapies (U01)"
10/5/08
The Cancer Imagine Program of NCI announces a new funding opportunity entitled “Quantitative Imaging for Evaluation of Responses to Cancer Therapies (U01)”. This cooperative agreement mechanism (PAR-08-225) is designed to promote research in quantitative imaging of tumor response to cancer therapies in clinical trial settings, with the overall goal of facilitating clinical decision making. The complete announcement can be found at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-08-225.html
The first date for receipt of applications under this announcement will be October 5, 2008. Please consider organizing a response to this announcement. It should be noted that review of applications received under this announcement will be collectively reviewed in a single study section within NCI, and the qualifications of the reviewers will be chosen by the Scientific Review Officer in charge of the review process to match the scientific goals of each application.
Please note that the scope of this initiative is broader than the scope of both the National Cancer Institute Archive (NCIA) workspace and the Imaging Response Assessment Teams (IRATs); however, aligned sufficiently to be considered a natural extension their work. We strongly encourage your consideration of this program and look forward to receiving applications from interested investigators.
